Bring canned goods and peanut butter for Philadelphia Blessing!!
UMCOR Flood Bucket Donations due by September 10th! Wednesday, August 30th our church had the Family Night Kick-Off to start the new year. Parents and youth gathered at the church for dinner and then assembled “Flood Buckets” for victims of Hurricane Harvey. (See some images at right in slideshow >>>)
A Flood Bucket is a simple plastic bucket that is filled with a list of specific cleaning supplies, until it is not so “simple” anymore. These items can help a family in the massive job of cleaning their home after it’s been ravaged by flood waters. The buckets make our hands, the ones of hope and renewal for these families.
We prepared 25 buckets at our meeting Wednesday, which were combined with those church members filled on their own and brought to the church.
Our Flood Buckets will be taken to the hurricane stricken areas in the next couple of weeks along with many other buckets prepared in the Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church and other Methodist Churches across the country.
We are continuing to collect funds to send to the South Coast areas so they are able to purchase for the direct needs they may have.
